The Avatar: The Last Airbender Beginner Box teaches two people Magic: The Gathering from scratch. It opens with a guided tutorial game of Aang against Zuko: two pre-sorted decks of 20 cards plus a guide booklet per player that leads you through the opening turns, so nobody needs to study the rules first.
After that, eight further 20-card themed half-decks take over. Choose any two, shuffle them together and you have a full deck, using the same mix-and-match idea as Jumpstart. All ten packets come to 200 cards, two packets for each of the five colours of mana. Two gameboard playmats show where cards belong, two Spindown dice keep life totals, and a reference booklet answers the questions that come up mid-game.
It suits fans of the series who have never played, families looking for a two-player card game, and existing players who want a ready kit for teaching a friend at the kitchen table.
