Secret Lair
Ryan Alexander Lee built his Artist Series around a story that feels like the sleeve notes of an old heavy metal record. A hero is sent by the gods into the shadowlands to face a gigantic beast, and the cards follow that quest: Nemesis of Reason, Gaea's Blessing, Twilight Prophet and Worldspine Wurm, plus a Wurm token.
This listing is non-foil. That keeps his bold, painterly scenes free of glare and makes the four cards and token easy to play in a Worldspine Wurm or reanimator Commander deck. Nemesis of Reason is the first trial, Gaea's Blessing and Twilight Prophet mark the sacrifices along the way, and Worldspine Wurm is the beast waiting at the end. Lee has painted more than 50 Magic cards since his debut on Sphinx's Disciple.
A bonus card is included: the sketch art of Gaea's Blessing.
The drop came in the Summer Superdrop and stands out in the series for its fantasy album look and the extra token.
